Town Council plays an important role in providing key services to the community. Below are some important details about how Council functions and its responsibilities:

Council Responsibilities: Town Council is the governing body responsible to the community for providing the services it requires like water, waste management, and roads.
Council Schedule: Council meets on a three-week cycle, except in July.
Committee of the Whole (COW): In a less formal setting, Council reviews staff reports, hears delegations, and discusses priorities. Motions passed at COW are recommendations and must be approved by Council. The public is welcome to attend.
Council Meetings: Final decisions are made in formal meetings, which are televised on Cogeco Cable 10. The public is welcome to attend.
Meeting Time: COW and Council meetings are held at 5:30 p.m.
