Lanark County Community Partners to Host Community Meeting Featuring Renowned Expert in Trauma Response

A collaboration of Lanark County community partners is inviting parents, guardians, and caregivers to a special community meeting aimed at providing support and resources in the wake of recent events. This meeting will take place on Monday, December 2, at 7 p.m. at the Perth Legion, 26 Beckwith St. E, Perth, with an option to attend virtually via Zoom.

The meeting will feature Kevin Cameron, Executive Director of the Center for Trauma Informed Practices, who will share expert insights on supporting children and youth during challenging times. Participants will gain valuable guidance on addressing increased anxiety and safety concerns, along with strategies to foster resilience and healing within families and the community.

“This is a chance for our community to come together, connect, and find the tools needed to support our children and youth,” said Judy Brown, Mayor of Perth. “We encourage parents, guardians, and caregivers to attend and learn how we can move forward as a resilient and united community.”

The event is a collaborative effort between Lanark County mental health organizations, youth services, school boards, and the municipality, along with community partners and health organizations, united in their commitment to providing actionable resources and creating a supportive environment for families.
