Mayor of the Town of Perth To Take a Temporary Leave of Absence

Town of Perth Mayor Judy Brown has announced that she will be taking a temporary leave of absence for health reasons, effective immediately.

A motion was passed at the Council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30 granting the Mayor temporary leave, and appointing Deputy Mayor Ed McPherson as acting Mayor for the duration of the leave.

“I have the best interests of the Town and the citizens at heart, and I have every confidence in the Deputy Mayor    to fill in for me in my absence,” stated Mayor Brown during the meeting.

During her absence, Mayor Brown will participate in meetings remotely as much as possible to stay informed on town matters. Council and staff offer their full support and wish her well in her recovery.
