Accessibility

All municipalities in Ontario are required to prepare annual Accessibility Plans in consultation with persons with disabilities, as mandated by the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001.

The Accessibility Plan identifies barriers that may affect people with disabilities and outlines ways to remove and prevent them. These barriers may exist in the municipality’s by-laws, policies, programs, practices, and services. The plan highlights the history of initiatives to address barriers, reviews past and upcoming actions, and sets targets for each year.

The Town of Perth is committed to improving accessibility to allow all individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in the community. Council encourages the involvement of people with disabilities in the development and review of the annual accessibility plan.
