Parking FAQs

People with an accessible parking permit can park for free in Perth’s parking lots for up to 4 hours and at street meters for up to 2 hours. The permit does not allow illegal parking. For more details, contact By-law Enforcement at 613-267-3311 ext. 2245.

You can move your vehicle to a different spot in the Business Improvement Area (BIA) within two hours, but this doesn’t reset the time limit. Your vehicle can’t return to the free BIA parking area for five hours from when it was first parked. The Town of Perth and the Downtown Heritage BIA provide the Complimentary Parking Program.

For stays longer than two hours, use one of the nearby parking lots. All lots have an 8-hour limit. Find municipal parking lots on this map or contact the By-law office at 613-267-3311 ext. 2245.

Yes, parking ticket appeals can be submitted online.

It is every driver’s responsibility to ensure their vehicle is legally parked and to understand the parking rules and regulations in the area. While certain circumstances may warrant "special consideration," the following situations do not excuse illegal parking;

"I didn't read the sign"

"I was only there for a minute"

"I had my flashers on"

"I didn't see the meter"

"I didn't know it was illegal"

Our Traffic and Parking By-law No. 3961 defines "park or parking" as a "the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when standing temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers."

Parking at the hospital is managed by the hospital itself. For more information, please contact them at 613-264-0638.
