Bring the Kids
There are so many great things to do in Perth with kids! Activities, attractions, parks, playgrounds, stores, picnics, patios, and more.
What to do with Kids
- Go on an outdoor adventure! Hiking, biking, swimming, skating, parks, playgrounds and more!
- Spend the day at Perth Major Outfitters (temporarily closed for the summer in 2024) playing mini-golf, racing pedal carts, playing table tennis, and paddling canoes, kayaks and SUPs down the Tay.
- Go bowling! You have to check out The Spare Room for the retro vibes and 5-pin bowling alleys.
- Check out the family-friendly attractions (and hey, many great photo-ops on this list, too!), particularly the Mammoth Cheese, the Big Red Chair, The Red Fox "Welcome to Perth" mural, the Dry Stone Bridge, Stewart Park and the Band Shell.
- Try the Heritage Hunt game at Perth Museum. There is even a small play area on the top floor!
- Visit some of the stores focused on children, such as Spring Children, Aprikose, and Fawn and Fox.
- Take the kids to the theatre! Perth is lucky to have a fantastic theatre company with performances both indoors and out.
- Enjoy a festival or event! Many are child-friendly, including Weekends in Perth ON.
Where to Eat with Kids
If you are getting takeout for a picnic, you can't make a bad decision. Looking for something more specific? Read on!
- Looking for a restaurant with a kids menu? Perth Tourism is working on a full list so check back soon! In the meantime, Michael's Table, Maximilian Restaurant, and Perth Pizzeria and Restaurant have all confirmed they have kids menus.
- Want a cold treat to take for a stroll in the park? Check out Peter's Restaurant for an ice cream take-out window; The Rideau Candy Shop for ice cream, candy, even cotton candy ice cream burritos; and North Folk Café for gelato (and a take-out window!).
- Looking for a treat to enjoy on the spot or take home after your trip?
- Consider a bakery-style treat from a café, such as Coutts Coffee Roastery and Café, Hourglass, North Folk Café, Picnic Café + Catering, or The Twisted Fork Café and Bistro.
- What about a freshly baked (or a take-and-bake) pie from Perth Pie Co; fudge from Fall River & Co; gourmet donuts from Blackfly Grub Hub; or melt-in-your-mouth chocolate from Perth Chocolate Works
- Prefer something savoury? Try a charcut-a-cone from The Perth Cheese Shop.
