Visitor Information Centre

Do you have questions about Perth? The Visitor Information Centre is located at Perth Museum, right downtown on Gore Street. Both Perth Museum and the Visitor Information Centre are open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please note: the first and second floors of the museum are now open.

When you arrive at the Visitor Information Centre, staff will greet you and help answer any questions you may have. You can collect the information you need, as the Visitor Information Centre is well-stocked with brochures, maps, directories, digital resources and information for your visit to the area. Staff can help you find the products, meals, services, snacks and entertainment you need. There is also a beautiful selection of souvenirs and locally made items for sale in the gift shop. Heck, there even public washrooms and free wifi onsite!

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, year round! 

Inside Perth Museum (in the Matheson House) at 11 Gore Street East. Please enter through the side door from the courtyard for both Perth Museum and the Visitor Information Centre.

Yes, there is an accessible public washroom with a change table.

Yes, there is a Gift Shop with books by local authors, Perth clothing, ball caps, postcards, art prints and a variety of other items.

There is free parking (two hour limit) on Gore Street and throughout the BIA area; but better yet there is parking behind the Museum in the municipal lot. Visit the Parking page for more information about municipal parking lots and street parking. The courtyard and side entrance doors can both be accessed from the parking lot.

Yes, there is free Wi-Fi here at the Centre. Several digital resources can be accessed onsite with QR codes too!

Yes, Perth Museum and the Visitor Information Centre are all in the same building. There are often artifacts on display in the tourism center as well. Admission to the Museum is by donation. Please use the white door in the courtyard.

In the summer and fall the courtyard and the gardens on either side of the house are both lovely spots to bring a lunch to eat at one of the tables and chairs provided. There is a water fountain and water bottle refill station just inside the door. 

Yes, the white tourism door from the courtyard has a ramp and accessibility buttons to open the door. Inside, the Visitor Information Centre is on one level with the accessible washroom. The main floor of the Museum is accessible with the interior ramp. There are stairs to the second and third floor. There are chairs and benches to rest throughout the space.

Yes, the Visitor Information Centre has a water fountain with a water bottle refill station.

The Visitor Information Centre has a small bicycle repair kit and tire pump that you are welcome to borrow. Simply sign it out from staff. You'll also find shaded areas to rest, a water fountain and water refill station, tourism information, cycling maps, and more.
