Step into the past. Uncover the secrets. Discover the will.

The year is 1873. Senator Roderick Matheson has passed away, and the grand home on Gore Street is shrouded in mourning. But something is amiss—his will has vanished. As grieving family members and loyal staff gather to prepare for the funeral, questions swirl. What did the Senator leave behind? And who stands to gain—or lose?

Join us for a hands-on experience inside the Matheson House, where you’ll become part of the story. Dressed in period costume, guests will take on the roles of Victorian mourners and take part in authentic 19th-century rituals. Bake traditional funeral biscuits. Create beeswax candles. Learn the customs of mourning attire and spiritual photography. Along the way, you’ll uncover clues hidden in the household that may just lead to the missing will.

Is it grief—or greed—hanging heavy in the air?

A Death in the Family is an unforgettable afternoon of mystery, history, and heritage. Suitable for guests aged 19 and up. Group sizes are limited for an intimate and immersive experience.

Trick or Treat in Downtown Perth

The MOST adorable day of the year! Spend a fun fall afternoon visiting our downtown shops and restaurants for some Trick or Treat fun! Look for the pumpkin in window displays to determine participating shops & restaurants.

Wear your most creative Halloween costumes and enter the contest at Perkins Square, hosted by Michale Fyke Real Estate Team!

This event is brought to you by Spring Children.

Trunk or Treat! Friday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Join us at the Perth Community Church Parking Lot on Monday, October 31 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

During Trunk or Treat events adults decorate the back of their cars for Halloween, load up on candy, and come sit in a parking lot for kids to “trick or treat” from car-to-car. It’s more fun than it sounds! Sometimes kids come in the hundreds, fully dressed in Halloween costumes and holding out bags or plastic pumpkins for treats.

The adults get to socialize and be creative while seeing all the cute and scary costumes. Refreshments for adults as well.

The Pumpkin Parade returns on November 1, and your pumpkins are needed!

How does it work? After Halloween, bring your carved pumpkin or jack-o-lantern to the Perth Museum Courtyard, where staff will add a battery-operated tealight and place it. Pumpkins can be dropped off and registered at 4 p.m. If you need to drop it off before then, please make sure to put your name and contact information securely on the back.

From 5-7 p.m., come by, walk through the pumpkins, and vote for your favourites in each category.
  • Funniest
  • Scariest
  • Most Creative
Winners will be announced on Perth Tourism’s Facebook page on November 3. The event is rain or shine, and participation is free.

After the event, the Town will pick up the pumpkins and take them to the compost pile. No need to carry your pumpkins home!

Don’t forget to visit the cafes, restaurants and eateries in Perth for all the fall flavours, and to add in a day of shopping for sweater weather, fall photo shoots, and seasonal home décor.
