Notice of Adoption - Official Plan Amendment #18
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Perth, having held a Special Public Meeting on June 23, 2023 under Section 26(3) of the Planning Act, an Open House on January 29, 2025, and a Public Meeting on February 4, 2025 under Sections 17 (15)(16) of the Planning Act, has passed By-law No. 3304-18 to adopt Official Plan Amendment #18 to the Town of Perth Official Plan on the 24th day of June 2025.
Purpose and Effect of Official Plan Amendment #18
The purpose of Official Plan Amendment #18 is to implement the recommendations of the “Planning Issues and Policy Options Report, Town of Perth Official Plan Review & Update” dated March 4, 2024. This amendment applies to all the lands within the boundaries of the Corporation of Town of Perth and represents five-year review update to the Official Plan. The Official Plan Amendment #18 brings the Town’s Official Plan into conformity with the Provincial Policy Statement (2024) and the Lanark County Sustainable Community Official Plan.
Policy changes presented Official Plan Amendment #18 include, but not limited to: Indigenous acknowledgement, climate change, intensification and redevelopment, economic diversification and employment lands, growth management, natural heritage systems, and affordable housing, to name a few. The Official Plan update also includes the replacement of the two existing land use schedules with four new, more accurate schedules covering land use, transportation, constraints, and natural heritage features.

TAKE NOTICE Council of the Corporation of Town of Perth received and considered comments from public bodies and general public in the development of the policies contained in Official Plan Amendment #18.
TAKE NOTICE that Official Plan Amendment #18 to the Town of Perth Official Plan is being submitted to Lanark County (Approval Authority) for approval. Any person or public body is entitled to receive notice of the decision of the approval authority regarding the new Official Plan if a written request to be notified of the decision (including the person’s or public body’s address, fax number or email address) is made to the approval authority at the following address:

TAKE NOTICE that complete Official Plan Amendment #18 is available for inspection during normal business hours at the Town of Perth Town Hall, 80 Gore St. East, Perth, Ontario, K7H 1H9.
