  • Town of Perth Welcomes New Director of Legislative Services/Clerk

    The Town of Perth is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Noël as the new Director of Legislative Services/Clerk. Having lived and worked in Lanark County for several years, Amanda brings a breadth of knowledge to this position as well as connections throughout the region. Previously Amanda has held positions with the Township of Drummond/North Elmsley, County of Lanark, and, most recently, the Township of Lanark Highlands.

  • Town of Perth Awards Municipal Property for Development of Affordable Housing to Carebridge Community Support

    The Town of Perth is excited to be taking steps in supporting initiatives focused on building economical accommodations within the community. At the Town Council meeting held on Tuesday, April 16, the Council of the Town of Perth voted in favour of a motion to enter into an agreement with Carebridge Community Support (Carebridge) to sell municipal land at 63 Halton St. for the price of $1, in exchange for the creation of an affordable housing project.

  • Notice of Appeal Received and Case Management Conference Set Regarding Proposed Subdivision

    The Town of Perth has recently received notice that Perthmore Enterprises Inc. has submitted an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) regarding the Zoning By-law Amendment. A virtual Case Management Conference (CMC) has been scheduled by the OLT for Monday, May 6, 2024, at 10 a.m (Case Number OLT-24-000210).

    The Town of Perth is proud to announce the grand reopening of the newly renovated Visitor Information Centre (VIC), located within the Perth Museum. This significant occasion was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Friday, March 22, celebrating the culmination of extensive renovations that promise to enhance the visitor experience significantly.

  • Help Clean Up Perth’s Streets at the Annual Trashure Hunt!

    Perth invites you to join the Trashure Hunt on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Back for a third year, this town-wide clean-up event will not only help beautify the Town, but will bring together the community in a fun, family-friendly way! Organized by a group of dedicated volunteers, the event is sponsored by the Town of Perth and Climate Change Advisory Panel.

  • Mayor's Declaration - World Down Syndrome Day - March 21, 2024

    Whereas, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 21 World Down Syndrome Day in 2012 to raise public awareness of Down Syndrome, and invited all Member States, relevant organizations of the United Nations system and other international organizations, including non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to observe World Down Syndrome Day each March 21 thereafter; and

  • OLT Releases the List of Issues Set to be Reviewed Regarding Proposed Subdivision

    The Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) has released the list of issues identified by the involved parties tied to the proposed subdivision by CAIVAN at the Perth Golf Course.

    This came when the OLT recently issued a Memorandum of Oral Decision, following the Case Management Conference (CMC) that took place on Feb. 12, 2024. The CMC was related to the appeal submitted by CAIVAN (Perth GC) Limited (Case Number OLT-23-000534) for its proposed subdivision within the Town of Perth.

    The Council of the Town of Perth wishes to offer condolences to the Mulroney family, along with loved ones and colleagues, over the death of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

    Town of Perth Mayor Judy Brown will be returning from a temporary leave of absence on Friday, March 1, 2024.

  • Notice of Appeal Received by the Town of Perth Regarding Proposed Perthmore Subdivision Expansion

    The Town of Perth has recently received notice that Perthmore Enterprises Inc. – the developer of the Perthmore subdivision located within the municipality – has submitted an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal regarding the Zoning By-law Amendment applications for Phase 6 of the development. A notice of appeal has also been issued to Lanark County pertaining to the Draft Plan of Subdivision.
