In accordance with the Town of Perth Municipal Land Sale By-law No. 4549 as amended, notice is hereby given that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Perth will consider a by-law to authorize the sale of surplus municipal land at 63 Halton Street to Carebridge Community Support for the development of affordable housing, at the Regular Council meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.
The Town of Perth is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Noël as the new Director of Legislative Services/Clerk. Having lived and worked in Lanark County for several years, Amanda brings a breadth of knowledge to this position as well as connections throughout the region. Previously Amanda has held positions with the Township of Drummond/North Elmsley, County of Lanark, and, most recently, the Township of Lanark Highlands.
The Town of Perth is excited to be taking steps in supporting initiatives focused on building economical accommodations within the community. At the Town Council meeting held on Tuesday, April 16, the Council of the Town of Perth voted in favour of a motion to enter into an agreement with Carebridge Community Support (Carebridge) to sell municipal land at 63 Halton St. for the price of $1, in exchange for the creation of an affordable housing project.
TAKE NOTICE that, in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13 as amended, the Council of the Town of Perth passed By-law No. 3358-132 on the 16th day of April, 2024 to amend Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 3358, as it pertains to lands described as Part of Lot 2, Concession 2, in the Town of Perth.
TAKE NOTICE that, in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13 as amended, the Council of the Town of Perth passed By-law No. 3358-131 on the 16th day of April, 2024 to amend Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 3358, as it pertains to lands described as Part of Lot 2, Concession 2, in the Town of Perth.
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Perth passed By-law 3304-17 on the 30th day of January, 2024 to adopt Official Plan Amendment No.17 to the Official Plan for the Town Perth pursuant to Sections 21 and 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended; and will be seeking approval of the amendment by submission to Lanark County, which is the approval authority.
The Town of Perth has recently received notice that Perthmore Enterprises Inc. has submitted an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) regarding the Zoning By-law Amendment. A virtual Case Management Conference (CMC) has been scheduled by the OLT for Monday, May 6, 2024, at 10 a.m (Case Number OLT-24-000210).
The Town of Perth is proud to announce the grand reopening of the newly renovated Visitor Information Centre (VIC), located within the Perth Museum. This significant occasion was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Friday, March 22, celebrating the culmination of extensive renovations that promise to enhance the visitor experience significantly.
Perth invites you to join the Trashure Hunt on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Back for a third year, this town-wide clean-up event will not only help beautify the Town, but will bring together the community in a fun, family-friendly way! Whereas, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 21 World Down Syndrome Day in 2012 to raise public awareness of Down Syndrome, and invited all Member States, relevant organizations of the United Nations system and other international organizations, including non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to observe World Down Syndrome Day each March 21 thereafter; and
